- I became an artist thanks to fibromyalgia. For two years I was so sick all I could do was sit in a chair or lie in bed and draw. I was so weak I would be breathless walking across a room. I lost 30 pounds. My lowest weight was 98 pounds. By a stroke of luck I met R. I didn’t know it at the time but they were worried I would die before I would get well. I was that sick. I have been on Dr. St. Amand’s protocol for thirteen years now. Since starting I have gone back to work as a pediatric occupational therapist, wrote a complicated and long textbook chapter for an editor friend, started two businesses and retired from one. Now I continue my dream, the pursuit of art.
